Objective:Based on the analysis of the food allergen label regulation of some developed countries and some organizations, the paper tries to, using the theory of food safety regulation, survey and explore the knowledge about food allergy and food allergen label among Chinese consumers, make full use of different regulation tools, and finally put forward some new thinking and suggestions for the food allergen label regulation in China.Methods:1.Historic literature review. By searching the related literature and documents in domestic and foreign databases and studying the food safety related books, the paper analyzed rationally the food safety regulation tools, giving the whole study a comprehensive background.2.Comparative analysis. Through the description of the food allergen label related laws and regulations of China and that of foreign countries, the paper summarized the advanced management ideas and regulation methods of other countries.3.Questionnaire survey. By referring the related literature, the paper used the self-made food safety questionnaire to survey the food allergen label knowledge among Chinese consumers, got the current knowledge status of consumers, provide the data support for the suggestions put forward. The paper chose 30 provinces(municipalities)firstly, then delivered 200 questionnaires for each province/municipality by using the method of convenience sampling, 6000 questionnaires in all. 5416 questionnaires were collected and there were 4994 questionnaires left after filtering.4.Statistical analysis. The paper entered the data by using the Epi data 2.0 softwareand analyzed the data by using the SPSS 19.0 software, then interpreted and discussed the results form the perspective of statistics.Results:1.Given the comparative analysis on the food allergen label regulation between other countries’ and China’s, the paper found that, China remained in the primary stage of food allergen label regulation. It will works to learn the successful experiences form some developed countries, which could enrich the Chinese path in food allergen label regulation.2.The results of the food allergen label knowledge questionnaire conducted among Chinese consumers showed that, the knowledge of food allergen label among the participants was 61.43%; there were 16.66% of participants knowing that the intake of milk,seafood,mango etc.would cause the allergic reaction in some people; 63.65% of the participants at least knew the adverse reaction caused by food allergy; among the food allergen label influencing factors, “there has no laws and regulations demand this”was chosen to be the principal reason; 86.93% of participants were concerned about the food allergen label; there were 39.50% of consumers thought the increase of food price would greatly affect their purchase behavior.Conclusion:The chose and integration of food safety regulation tools could not merely duplicate the experience of other countries. According to the successful experience of other countries and combined the result of the questionnaire survey, this study choose the proper regulation tools for the current food allergen label problems, promoting the realization of food allergen label.1.play the role of legal regulation tool. The government should update the concept and requirements of food allergen label with referring the experience of other countries and find a Chinese solution.2.Refine the role of administrative regulation tool. The government should clear theresponsibility and management and complete the food safety management system in China.3.Strengthen the role of social regulation tool. The government should deepen the participant awareness among the consumers, improve the status of the third-party organization in the prevention of food allergy, and play the role of the mass media in the education of food allergy.4.Clear the role of economic regulation tool. The admittance mechanism is the guarantee of the prevention of food allergy, the rate system should be the guarantee of profit.
