On The Creation Of Qian Zhongshu ’s Subjective Consciousness

The following thesis mainly copes with three aspects on the subjective consciousness ofQian Zhongshu’s creations：Firstly, the subjective consciousness comes about after contactingactively or passively with others’ ideas and notions rather than be born with one’s birth, whichafterwards forms his own unique ideology. Therefore in this thesis, Qian Zhongshu’ssubjective consciousness has a close relationship to the influence of both Chinese traditionalculture and Western culture, and Qian’ Zhongshu’s personal cultural accomplishment is theprerequisite factor. Secondly, I try to explore Qian Zhongshu’s literary creation concept according tothe background of the times. As we know, literary creation is a spirit product of the author’sknowledge and cultural structures. Influenced by Western cultures, Qian Zhongshu focuses onhis contemporary intellectuals, and from the angle of subjectivity, he surveys his figures’consciousness of personality, independence, tragedy, ethics and so on. Based on thesubjective consciousness reflected on the intellectual characters in Qian Zhongshu’s works, mythesis is to further demonstrate the human cultural value and the concept of intellectuals’humanity weakness. Finally, Qian Zhongshu was put in the political background in a socialtransition period in1930s and1940s, Qian Zhongshu’s creating features has emphasized whencomparing the other authors such as the writers of the Left Wing writers or the July Schoolwriters. Thus Qian Zhongshu’s creating subjective consciousness is to be shown. AlthoughQian Zhongshu’s literary creation seems to be far away from politics, it isn’t a fact. QianZhongshu’s criticism about the intellectuals is also a certain kind of stricture about thecommunity culture. At the same time, we also find through Qian Zhongshu’s works theconsciousnesses of suffering, and social critique awareness as an intellectual.
