Strategies Of Attribute Translation In Informative Texts

This paperis aimed to discuss the strategies of translating attribute in informativetexts. In the part of theoretical introduction, the paper discusses the typicalcharacteristics of informative texts. Then, it illustrates the components and position ofattribute and finds the similarities and difference in attribute between Chinese andEnglish, providing theoretical support for the following discussion. In the part of casestudy, the paper analyses some translation cases from the book Stream Ecology toconclude the practical strategies for attribute translation.This paper consists of fivechapters. Chapter One introduces the background and objectives and significance of thistranslation project. In Chapter Two, background information of the original text,including introduction of authors and summary and the reflection on the translationpractice are the focus. Chapter Threeillustrates the definition and characteristics ofinformative texts, comparing features of attribute in English and Chinese. In ChapterFour, cases of translation from Stream Ecology are analyzed and strategies of attributetranslation are concluded. Chapter Five is the summary of this translation practice.
