Science Fiction Film Spatial Modeling Research

Science fiction film is beloved by the popular for its marvelous. As an importantand the most box office appeal type of cinema, sic-fic movie uses the magic ofcomputer digital media technology to gain the power of narration with fully andsustainable developed imaginary.Based on the category of genre film, this paper studies the expression of spatialmodeling in science fiction movie. First to examine the history of sci-fic movie as agenre film, the author found that one of the determinants to form a type as sic-fic film isthe spatial modeling characteristics and that the technological development of the spacedesign in this type of film can be called a main clue of the whole history of cinematictechnology. Second part of this thesis, based on the history and combined the analysesof the theory of spatial modeling, the author originally concluded the types of spatialmodeling in sci-fic movie as: the reality spatial modeling, unreality spatial modelingand the coterminous interfacial design between them. According to the theory of“visibility translation”, the unreality spatial modeling can be divided as thecosmoscopic spatial modeling, microcosmic spatial modeling, dreamingly spatialmodeling and cyber spatial modeling. Combined with the classic sic-fic movies, thepaper analyzes and proves those different types of modeling.The third part of this paper studies the aesthetic of the spatial modeling expressionin sci-fic movies, and believed that the specific verisimilitude of this type of filmprovesthe basis of real aesthetic of cinema.The reality of space in sci-fic movie must considertwo levels as reality of consciousness level and reality of art level, which has importantguiding significance to the creation of spatial modeling in science fiction movie.Through the analysis of sic-fic film and its history of technology in the expressionof modeling, the paper provides an originally division of concept of spatial modeling.With the study and instance analysis of such expression in classic sci-fic movies, andwith the discuss of the reality aesthetic of such spatial modeling, this paper aims toprovide reasonable opinions and suggestions to the expression of spatial modeling inChinese sci-fic movies.In the end, the paper rethinks the deficiency and stasis of domestic sci-fic movie production and analyzes the specific reasons, hoping to provide some operablesuggestions and opinions to the development of our domestic science fiction films.
