A Research Report On Business Contract Under The Guidance Of Functional Equivalence Theory

As the basis point of the English economic trading contract, the business Englishhas been the tool for verbal communication.As an important legal document, contract English is studied by more and morefans of English and law who want to know contract English as soon as possible so asto understand, translate and draft English contract accurately. With Chinese economicdeveloping quickly, this need increases, and the desire of solving the problems ofbusiness contract is more and more urgent.At present, the study on business contract translation is getting increasinglyintensive and the research interest covers an increasingly wider range. The paper is atranslation practice report including five chapters. The first chapter makes a briefdescription of the topic background. The second chapter present a brief introductionof the translation content. Chapter three introduces briefly the functional equivalencetheory. The fourth chapter is the main body which includes three sections. The firstsection makes a brief introduction of the principles of business contract translation;the second section analyzes the syntactic characteristics of the business contract; andthe last section summarizes skills of the syntax translation. The last chaptersummarizes the experience in the translation process and the limitation of thetranslation report.The report aims at, on the one hand, prompting the translators to study thebusiness contract translation scientifically; on the other hand, summarizing thetranslation strategies and skills of the business contract text. The significance of thepaper is to provide reference or guidance for the translation of the same type of textby summarizing the translation strategies and skills, and contribute to the scientificstudy of the business contract translation.
