Translation Practice Report On Xinjiang And China’s Rise In Central Asia-A History (The4th And5th Chapters)

China and central Asia has a long history of cultural communication. After theindependence of five countries in central Asia, cultural communication betweenChina and central Asian countries have great development. Due to the geographicalfactors, the exchanges between Xinjiang and central Asia, such as education, culture,scientific research, etc are becoming more and more frequent. Therefore, thetranslation of the Central Asian material plays an important role in the developmentof our country. Skopos theory is the main theory of the functional translation school,which breaks through the limitation on the original. Moreover, in order to achievethe translation purpose, we can change the form of the original or even delete someirrelevant information, thus guiding the text of content type of the translation ofcentral Asian material. Skopos theory includes three principles: skopos rule,coherence rule and fidelity rule, in which skopos rule is the primary rule.This article, guided by the Skopos theory, taking central Asian material as theoriginal text for Chinese translation, is trying to discuss the translation of longsentences and complex sentences. Finally, the writer puts forward differenttranslation strategies, such as conversion, division, etc. Meanwhile, it concludes thatSkopos theory can guide the translation of central Asian material, and the translatorshould choose appropriate translation strategies in translating work.
