The Research On Teachers’ Career Planning Of Secondary Vocational School In Jilin Province

Today’s traditional teaching emphasis on exam-oriented education, to underrate abilitystudying,"spoon-feed" mode, the phenomenon has become more apparent that emphasis onthe examination too much, and it can not satisfy the essence of practicality andcommunicative needs of vocational English. With the prompt development of nowadayssociety and economy, the higher vocational education must transform the viewpoint ofexam-oriented education, train students to establish competence-based education goalsactively, pay more attention to English teaching reform of higher vocational schools. Thehigher vocational school must abandon outdated idea of education, focusing oncapacity-building, constructing new educational concept, and establishing student-centeredteaching mode.The paper is based on the background research and the pattern of competence-basededucation. First of all, we discuss the relevant concept of competence-based education, makeclear the basic content of competence-based education, also its formation process anddevelopment，and the influence and evaluation. Secondly, through reading literature whichanalyse deeply the use of competence-based education concept and the development at homeand abroad, comparing them carefully, we analyze the actual situation of competence-basededucation in high vocational English teaching. We summarize the experience and find thewhole standpoint of vocational English teaching reform in China. We do some research on theEnglish teaching reform and the course features in Jilin, using the methods of questionnaire,figures, charts and facts,find different kinds of problems in current teaching reform: seriousshortage of funding; serious shortage of the qualified teachers, the existence of wrongeducational idea, low social recognition. Finally, under the guide of competence-basededucation, conducting at the weakness of English teaching in Jilin province, it put forwardsome suggestions: establish a correct target of education, the distinctive characteristics, theawareness of student competence-based education, the correct ideology, appropriatemarketing concepts, so that to make correct school teaching.
