In the experiment, the author mainly focuses on the relationship betweenstudents’ listening ability and interpreting learning. By this experiment, the authorwants to falsify or verify the hypothesis that the interpreting study has greatinfluence on the improvement of listening ability.In general, it is widely believed that interpreting study has great impact on thelistening ability improvement. However, in the practice, there is no solid evidence tosupport this idea. Therefore, the aim of the experiment is to falsify or verify thishypothesis. In the experiment, the author chooses108(without any interpretingfoundation) students from English-majored undergraduate school and MTI schoolof Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS), and conducts two listeningtests on their listening performances before and after interpreting learning, whichcontains dictation part and summary part for each test. After the experiment, thestatistics will be collected and analyzed, and finally by contrastingthe relevant datain twotests,the paper will give the final result of the experiment.According to the result of the experiment, we may have new ideas on therelationship between the interpreting learning and listening ability, and offer somesuggestions and implications for the interpreting teaching, such as to add thelistening comprehensive training in the interpreting course.
