LiJing Ji is the folk opera in southern Fujian, which was printed in Ming Dynastyof Jiajing. It’s the combined issue of Quanzhou vocal systems and Chaozhou vocalsystems and tells about the moving love story of Chensan and Wuniang. The fullname of LiJing Ji is Chongkan Wuse Chaoquan Chake Zengru Shici Beiqu GoulanLiJing Ji Xiwen.There are different versions of this love story, and LiJing Ji is the first versionwhich still existis. The transmission and rheology of the different versiongs make thestory classic. In the local characteristic aspect, LiJing Ji includes lots of Quanzhouand Chaozhou customs. It was written by the dialect of southern Fujian and it’s thevaluable documentation of researching the customs in Quanzhou and Chaozhou. Inthe vocal systems aspect, it’s the typical opera of Quanzhou and Chaozhou. LiJing Jicreated the abundance and individual characters. It contains profound thinkingconnotation and has strong literature value. At the aspect of performing art, becauseof the distinctive performance of Liyuan Opera,it’s worth watching a hundred timesfor the people in the southern Fujian and eastern Guangdong from Ming Dynasty tothe present. LiJing Ji has fundamental significance for the history of Chineseliterature, the protection of Chinese traditional opera and cultural exchanges betweenFujian and Taiwan.
