Study Of Subliminal Visual Messages’Influence On Implicit Attitude

Our study has analysed the impact of subliminal visual messages on implicitattitude following subliminal evaluative conditioning paradigm, with Single CategoryImplicit Association Test (SC-IAT) as implicit attitude measurement tools and the CoreValues of the Contemporary Revolutionary Soldier vocabulary as conditioned stimulusmaterial.To begin with，from a theoretical point of view，this paper reviewed relativestudies on subliminal visual messages impact on implicit attitude and analyzedpossible factors on subliminal visual messages impact. Subsequently，experimentalstudy was conducted to validate these influencing factors.The experiment is composed of three parts：The first part: to explore whether presentation times of subliminal visualinformation could affect the impact. The results showed that under the subliminalevaluative conditioned reflex paradigm，the subliminal visual information could affectthe The Core Values of the Contemporary Revolutionary Soldier implicit attitudessignificantly，and the influencing effects increased along with presentation times.The second part: to explore whether presentation span of subliminal visualmessages could affect the impact. The results showed that under subliminal evaluativeconditioned reflex paradigm, all subliminal visual messages of different presentationspans could affect subjects implicit attitude on The Core Values of the ContemporaryRevolutionary Soldier significantly，and there was no significant difference between theselected three levels.The third part: to explore whether color of subliminal visual messages could affectthe impact. The results showed that under subliminal evaluative conditioned reflexparadigm，all subliminal visual messages of different color could affect subjectsimplicit attitude on The Core Values of the Contemporary Revolutionary Soldiersignificantly，the impact from the green message is the maximum，next the red andwhite，the gray is the minimum.On the basis of theoretical and empirical research，combined with the psychologydevelopment status and to the actual，this paper reflected the applications of thisresearch on the point of the ideological and political education.
