The aim of this thesis is to obtain a comprehensive understandingof the pattern in Mandarin "V de(得) C" and use the conclusion of thetheoretical study as the guide in the career of teaching Chinese as aforeign language.We analysed the linguistic data from language database created byCenter for Chinese Linguistics in Peking University and by Chinese stateLanguage and Letters Committee and discussed the syntactic and semanticstructure of "V de(得) C". On the basis of the theoretical study, weanalysed the teaching outline, teaching material and the error existedin the expression of learner of Chinese language (from the languagedatabase based on HSK created by Beijing Language and CultureUniversity).The contributions of the thesis are giving a comprehensive view ofthe structure "V de(得) C" and presenting some points of view in teaching"V de(得) C" which is deserved discussion. In addition, we proposed somesuggestions in textbook compilation (paraphrasing, citing, exercisesetting and so on) and Classroom Teaching.
