Marx always had great concern on the problem of human needs. Marx’s theoryof human needs transformed and innovated from the theory of predecessors, and itsessence was that practice was the core concept of his theory. Through theinvestigation on the labor of capitalist, Marx believed that under the capitalistproduction mode, human needs were alienated, and the direct source was alienatedlabour.Today’s society, the prevalent of consumerism, serious damage to the ecology,etc., are all shown us that human needs as Marx believed were alienated, so it isnecessary for human beings to reflect on their own needs, to rethink what are rationalneeds, what are unrational needs. Therefore, this paper attempts to resort Marx’stheory of human needs, so people are able to understand the philosophicalfoundation and basic implication of Marx’s theory of human needs correctly, for uscould grasp the connotation, the internal regulations and the way to achieve of therational needs. Eventually, people could understand their own rational needs, andachieve the harmony between man and nature, man and man, man and society, alsoachieve the free and comprehensive development of human beings.
