Purpose: Firstly, to find the well-being’s status and characteristics of residents inBeijing and Nanchang. Secondly, to compare Beijing’s influential factors of residentswith Nanchang. Thirdly, to propose several counter measures to improve resident’swell-being.Methods: Selecting271residents of Beijing and348residents of Nanchang as theobjects and evaluating them with Multiple Happiness Questionnaire, SocialWell-being Questionnaire and The Questionnaire for Eudemonic Well-Being, analyzedata with SPSS19.0and AMOS21.0.Results: Firstly, the Multiple Happiness Questionnaire, Social Well-beingQuestionnaire and The Questionnaire for Eudemonic Well-Being have good reliabilityand validity, they suits for measuring the residents in Beijing and Nanchang. Secondly,both Beijing and Nanchang’s residents’ well-being are above average and they havesignificant difference in Life satisfaction, Life Vitality, Personality growth andPotential perception. Thirdly, the residents’ well-being of Beijing and Nanchang hassignificant differences in demographic variables. Fourthly, the influential factors havebetter effect in predicting well-being.Conclusion: Firstly, both Beijing and Nanchang’s residents’ well-being are aboveaverage. Secondly, the residents’ well-being of Beijing and Nanchang has significantdifferences in demographic variables. Thirdly, the influential factors have better effectin predicting well-being.
