A Practice Report On The Consecutive Interpreting Of "Treasures Around The World", An Episode Of TV Documentary Series Of "Five Thousand Years History Of Chinese Characters"

Translation plays an vital role in cultural exchange and cultural integration and at the same timeit has done tremendous contributions to the strengthening of mutual understanding. This is ainterpreting practice report on the basis of the documentary of Five Thousand Years History ofChinese Characters which is a series of historical program promoted by CCTV9. In this report, theauthor selected the most representative fragments of the documentary as the text of the case study tomake a full exploration of the various problems and difficulties encountered by the interpreter in theprocess of documentary interpreting and put forward some practical coping skills and strategies foreach of the problem respectively.In the entire report, task, the author mainly focuses on the following two parts, namely,“Preparation before Interpreting” and “Case Study”. In the “Case Studies” part, while consideringthe interpreting skills, the author made a profound and full-scale analysis and research of the selectedinterpreting cases.At the end of the report, the author makes a conclusion on this task and makes a furtheremphasis over the necessity and importance of preparation.
