A Practice Report On Interpretation Of The First Episode Of Zhongshan Dukedom Documentary

China has a recorded history of five thousand years,and its connotation is so broad and profound that no country in the world can surpass.In its vast history,many unknown and mysterious countries have played a key role in the formation of Chinese culture and history.Zhongshan is such a dukedom.This documentary opens a window for common people to understand the turning point of Chinese history.So the interpretation of this documentary is significant for us to spread Zhongshan culture to the outside world,and even expand the influence of Chinese culture.The source language of this practice is Chinese and the target language is English.This thesis records the detailed process of the simulation interpretation.The whole thesis consists of four chapters.In the first chapter,the significance of this documentary,the characteristics of language and the abilities of the interpreter are explained.In the second chapter,the theoretical and practical preparation,the process of interpreting and the work after interpreting are introduced.In the third chapter,the author focuses on the difficulties encountered in the process of interpreting in terms of cultural-loaded words,sentences and the corresponding solutions.The fourth chapter is the final summary of the simulation interpretation.Based on cultural translation theory,this thesis chooses corresponding interpretation methods for the interpretation of cultural-loaded words and long and difficult sentences in the historical documentary.It is worth mentioning that these translation methods are not completely independent.Comprehensive application of these methods can lead to better interpretation effects.In the process of interpreting,the author tries to interpret rich cultural connotations while maintaining their original flavor.The author hopes to provide some suggestions for the future interpreting of historical documentaries and new interpreters,and to promote the development of relevant research on historical documentary interpretation.
