Comparative Study On The Manifestations Of Relative Time In Korea And China

This paper studies the relative time based on the time point outside the time of speech, instead of the absolute time which is on the basis of the regular time of speech.The introduction mainly demonstrates the concept and the current situation of time, absolute time and relative time. Then, it analyzes the relative simple manifestations of time in Korea and China, which is the relative time with obvious time mark. Finally, it discusses the relative time with no time mark; namely, the relative time within absolute time.Through the comparison between Korean and Chinese relative time, we find that some forms of manifestations of relative time in Korea and China are corresponding to one another. However, in the meanwhile, there are still some that can’t correspond to each other, and should be manifested with different suffixes, words or grammatical features. We hope that this comparative study will help Korean and Chinese learners in a certain way in the study of the relative time of Korean and Chinese.
