Study On The Image Of Regional Religious Culture In Xiangxi

For the billions of people in the world, religion is an indispensable part of theirlife. They read religious books and wear symbolic items of holiness. They refrainthemselves from eating certain types of food on special religious occasions and whenthey were born, get married and even die, they must hold specified ceremonies incompliance with certain specific beliefs. Therefore, the phenomenon of religion isvery common.China is a multinational and multi-religion country. On its vast territory, as agathering spot for minorities, Xiangxi takes up an irreplaceable position and itsimportance is also embodied in religious art. The regional religions in Xiangxi is animportant treasure of historical culture, a highly compression of art, thoughts, cultureand the society and has a unique representing nature.Specific to the study of Xiangxi regional religious and cultural image, is not onlypays attention to the Xiangxi form of religion, but also should pay attention to itsthought, analyzing its characteristics and functions.In this dissertation, the author starts from the image of regional religious culturein Xiangxi, based on many religious pictures from Xiangxi, systematically illustratesthe content and reason of formation of image of regional religious culture in Xiangxi,analyzed the specific manifestation of image of regional religious culture in Xiangxifrom the angel of the science of image and further conducts a research on individualcases with Jia and Maogusi as two representatives, thus promoted the overalltheoretical research on the image art of regional religious culture in Xiangxi. Finally,in combination with t he image research, the author attempts to analyze thecharacteristics and functions of the regional religious culture in Xiangxi in an effort tolay certain foundation for the research into the regional religious culture in Xiangxi,insert some momentum into the inheritance of regional religious culture in Xiangxiand make a contribution to the protection of the national traditions in China.
