Due to the quickening development of globalization, international connections have become more and more frequent in the global village. China, as a permanent member of the United Nations (UN) Security Council, has participated in UN affairs actively. Under these circumstances, the translation of the document of UN and related international organizations is increasingly indispensible; it has not only become a crucial part of today’s translation business but also become a big subject in the translation academy. This report is an analysis and conclusion based on the author’s translation practice of UN Decisions. In the beginning, the author makes a brief introduction to UN documents and UN justice system, which produces UN Decisions. Then the author summarizes the language features of UN Decisions with a number of examples. By applying related translation theories and research results of experts, some translation principles employed in the practice are summarized, including the principle of precision, the principle of consistency and the principle of standardization.
