The teaching of Chinese characters as a Foreign Language is an important part of Chinese teaching. Chinese characters is a bridge for the students studying abroad to learn Chinese better, which is even more a bridge for them to understand the Chinese culture in-depth. But during the course of learning Chinese, the characters becomes a big problem. Therefore, to find the right characters pedagogy is an important issue of Chinese teaching as a foreign language, which needs to have an urgent solution. This paper studies the current popular "Eighteen laws of Chinese characters Teaching as a foreign language"For the contents of eighteen Laws of Chinese teaching as foreign language, it will be divided into four parts, which are Chinese characters presentation, Chinese characters cognition, writing and its uses. This paper generalizes the Characters of the Eighteen Laws on the basis of the content and the effect obtained in the practical practices of many years. Finally the author will conclude her own point of view:Which are urgent to promote in the "Eighteen law ", which are subject to the discretion of the teaching, and which need to pay attention to during the specific operation of the Eighteen Laws.Additionally, I hope in the future of Chinese characters teaching process, teachers and experts are more concerned about the Chinese Characters teaching of the students in the non-Chinese cultural circle. I also hope that the compiling of textbook will be more in line with the learning characteristics of the students studying abroad so that they can have a fundamental understanding of Chinese characters, learn Chinese characters better, and the Chinese as well.
