There is logic and historical consistency on the level of mentaldevelopment between the individual growth of human childhood and ofearly primitive, thus it profoundly illustrates that there is great relevancebetween the human childhood and personal childhood. Meanwhile, theromantic literature in the myths and legends directly germinates children’sliterature, so that they can throw impacts on children’s literature. Many similarities can be found from the comparison of the literarymotif between Mongolian mythology and Greek mythology, which reflectthe sincere feelings and the cries for justice in a certain extent. The positiveemotions which are reflected in both Mongolian and Greek mythologies, provides strong impetus and stepping-stones for later children’s literature. Itcan be embodied in the children’s poetries, children’s novels, and fairy talesetc.Because of the different living environments and lifestyles, Mongolianand Greek mythologies show big differences. Mongolian life style givespriority to animal husbandry, thus, it leads Mongolian to worship the nature, and obey the law of nature. While the Greek civilization is established on theocean, thus, human must conquer the ocean to make a living. It leads to theirdifferent attitudes towards the nature. Such distinct ecological concepts haveprofound impacts on children’s literature. The thesis discusses the greatdifference from the aspect of subject matters, themes, and the image. In theterms of subject matters, Mongolian children’s literature mainly embodiesthe harmony of human and nature, while majorities of western children’sliterature samples are mainly in adventure forms, in which nature isdescribed as the opposite to human. In the aspect of themes, Mongolian children’s literature inspired children how to protect the nature. Westernchildren’s literature advocated that how to conquer the nature. In the aspectof the image shaping, the images in Mongolian children’s literature aremostly related to animals, imitating children’s languages and behaviors toattract children’s interest and to make them establish correct ecologicalattitudes. A lot of images in Western children’s literature are created inhuman-centered views, which not only bring children happiness and noveltybut often reveal the indifference of the nature.Mongolian nomadic hunting lifestyle calls for collective supports, sothat the Mongolian myths and legends have strong purports of human ethicalawareness. Greek mythologies embody individualism and a kind of tragicconsciousness in general. The impacts of those two different ethical purportson children’s literature are different: numerous opuses with the purports ofself-sacrifice, benevolence, solidarity that are emerged in Mongolianchildren’s literature, while majorities of the opuses of western children’sliterature reflects the purports of self-improvement together with mildhumanitarianism. Under the influence of the mythologies and on the basis ofreflecting the childlike innocence, friendship and ideals, children’s literaturewill be innovated constantly and developed vigorously along the paces of theeras.
