A Report On The Translation Of The Rage (Chapter34-64)

This report summarizes the translation practice of Chapter34to Chapter64of The Rage, an Irish detective novel (The translation has already been published on Translations (译林)). The success of literary translation depends on faithfulness to original work and appreciation of its aesthetic values. In view of this, the author tries her best to reproduce in her translated version the artistic beauty and retain its certain literary flavors featured by the original work. Since dialogues in the The Rage contribute tremendously to the creation of character images and the development of fantastic plot, the discussion focuses on the dialogue translation, concerning translation methods, gains as well as experience.
