Life of too much reality makes people feel boring. Sentimental andromantic fairy tales which are contrary to the objective reality make up forthe defects in the real life. The designers add the magical power to goodsby introducing the mythological elements to packaging design, thusenhancing the value of goods potentially. This article absorbs the view of"the injection of emotions and national nature is a new trend of packagingdesign ",and puts forward the new concept of " packaging design withmythical elements " after lots of data collections and research, which tosome extents provides enlightenment for some problems, for example,thelack of cultural connotations and national characteristics in modernpackaging design.” This article analyzes the packaging design withmythical elements of different regions rather systemically, and puts greatemphasis on the study of patterns.This article paves for the explanation of "packaging design withmythical elements" by define "myth" in three aspects which are the creativetime, the creative groups and the customers. By the introduction of the realcases of "Mythical elements packaging design", it points out the feasibilityof combining the mythical elements and packaging design, and doespreliminarily studies, analysis and inductions according to different kindsof packaging design with mythical elements. Second, it describes therelations between myths and packaging respectively from the perspectives of the beginning time, the creative people,and the customers, and testifiesthe feasibility of the combination of myths and packaging for the secondtime in aspects of the spectrum, the mobility, the infectivity, the plasticityand so on, and puts forward and discusses the specific products becomingthe bridge between the mythical elements and packaging design. Third, itclarifies the successful application of the mythical elements to folkpackaging design. The roles of mythical elements in packaging design areclassified as praying for safety, driving out evil spirits, teaching person todo something good, and humoring. Exploring the application of mythicalelements to packaging design, it puts forward the view of "identify subjects,then choose the better." and reminds the designers that myth is notsuperstitious, and we should notice “The forbiddenness of myth totem andthe ambiguity of myth or other related problems”. Finally, the articlediscusses the strategy of marketing. On the one hand, by explainingnational festivals derived from myths, it puts forward that the especiallymade packaging for special festivals can be based on folk myths.”On theother hand, In order to satisfy the high physiological needs ofconsumers,the writer thinks that it shall be a kind of marketing strategy towork out beautiful and delicate mythical elements packaging with classicstyles, enduring qualities, small quantities and small volumes.
