Since China’s reform and opening up, all of aspects in China have improved rapidly,for example, political, economic, cultural and so on. At the same time of China’s national strength is grow up,China’s international status is also improve.China is getting more closer with the world. Chinese language to be an important medium of interaction, is gradually being attached great importance by the world. Especially after China-ASEAN economy free trade area has been opened and the CAEXPO has been held in Nanning Guangxi, more and more foreign students arrive Guangxi to study Chinese language.It is necessary to study their Chinese learning strategies seriously and deeply.The author based on Second Language Learning Strategies theory and uses Oxford (1990)’s Strategy Inventory for Language Learning questionnaire to identify111foreign students’ Chinese learning strategies who study in Guangxi Medical University,to study the factors which have make influence when they choose Chinese strategies. The author used Excel and SPSS17.0(Statistical Product and Service Solutions) to analysis the collected data. Descriptive statistical analysis, ANOVA and T-test analysis methods are used.The results of this paper is that, when foreign students learn Chinese, the order of strategies using frequency from high to low is social strategies, compensation strategies, memory strategies, cognitive strategies, metacognitive strategies, affective strategies. Gender have significant influence in using strategies, male use more cognitive strategies than female learner. Memory strategies, cognitive strategies, metacognitive strategies and affective strategies are used more by Chinese major leaners than leaners whose major in medical. Learners’mother language doesn’t have significant influence. Age doesn’t have significant influence. Those who study Chinese less than a half of year use more social strategies than students who study Chinese more than one year. Finally, the author discussed this study results and give some suggestions on teaching Chinese as a second language.
