| In early twentieth century, the discovery of the Dunhuang Library Cave shocked the world. Many people are scrambling to study in the cultural treasures of Dunhuang Grottoes, so the research of Dunhuang sutras has gradually arised. The Mindful Place of the Proper Dharma Sutra is one of the most important sutra in the wold, and the variant Chinese characters in the sutra bring a lot of materials for Chinese studies. In this paper, the variant Chinese characters in The Mindful Place of the Proper Dharma Sutra of Dunhuang will be researched.The main body of this paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is an introduction to the interpretation of The Mindful Place of the Proper Dharma Sutra, as well as the research status of sutra, the significance of the research, and the methods of study; Chapter II is the description of The Mindful Place of the Proper Dharma Sutra, which tells the characteristics of the manuscripts; Chapter III is about the research of naming of the manuscripts and the combination of the extant sections; Chapter IV is about the types of the variant Chinese characters; and the last chapter is the philological studies of the knotty Chinese characters.The appendix has only one part:the table of the variant Chinese characters. |
