This passage mainly explores the origin of Korean language and the status of Chineselanguage after the Korean has been created, which would gives an insight into the meaning ofChinese character in Korean. We choose those Chinese words, which have equivalent wordsin Korean, of level three and level four (which total902words) in HSK to analyze. Weclassify those words into three kinds: words of same form and meaning, words of same formbut different meanings, words of same meaning but different forms. Then we differentiate thesimilarities and differences of the above-mentioned words in three categories and find out thegeneral law of those words. We take out the vocabulary part of a HSK exam to test theChinese majors, who are juniors, in Chungnam National University and get to know how theyprocess those above-mentioned words in three categories. We try to get to know the positivetransfer and negative transfer, that is, the effect of Korean on the learning of Chinese, and tryto help students with their Chinese learning by using the positive transfer and get out oftroubles caused by negative transfer, which would, hopefully, lead to a more effective Chineseteaching.
