A Report On The Interpreting And Analysis Of Four Horsemen

This interpreting report is based on the documentary of the Four Horsemen, which isshot in2012by Ross Ashcroft, a British film director. With rigorous logic and clearstraightforward words, the Four Horsemen depicts the capitalism’s looming doom of the West,and advocates returning back to the classical economics and the gold standard system, so wecan distribute the world fortune fairly and make common progress of human beings.As a fan to economics and current politics, I have a strong interest in this documentary.There is not any Chinese version of this documentary or any Chinese subtitle till now. Beforemy consecutive interpreting, I went through some main economic theories like “ChicagoEconomics Theory”. I have met a few problems and confusion during the interpreting, whichwill be discussed in my report with solutions.Based on the documentary and with the guidance of Danica Seleskovitch’s InterpretiveTheory of Translation, this report analyzed the problems during the interpreting process andcarried out corresponding solutions. At the same time the discussion about interpreting theoryis also included in the report, together with the use of note-taking in interpreting.
