A Report On Translation Of Chinese Project Documents Into English

With further development of international economic and commercial integration, an increasing number of Chinese enterprises have been participating in global business competition. Thus, a large number of project documents need to be translated. This report mainly presents an account of the process of translating the project text from Brewing Plant-Ponta Grossa Unit Effluent Treatment System, focusing on how the author dealt with key points in her translation practice.First, the author states the background, research questions, research methods, research significance, and the structure and main points of the report. Next, the author briefly explains the requirements for the translation project and the translation procedures. What follows is the most important part of this report. The author analyzes quite a few typical examples in terms of words, sentences, and charts from the perspective of translation techniques and succeeds in proving the necessity of application of common techniques to translation of technical projects, including addition and omission of words, division and inversion of sentences and the use of abbreviations and words instead of sentences in charts. Finally, the report arrives at the conclusion in which the author summarizes the main findings, points out the limitations and offers some opinions on further research.This report is also intended to enlighten novices in translation and to help us raise our skills to translate projects effectively.
