Practice Report On The Chinese Translation Of Itare Dam Water Supply Project Tender Documents

With the increasing friendship between our country and Africa, our country has more and more investment in Africa. According to Data, Africa became the fourth largest destination of China’s overseas investment in 2010. Chinese enterprises have participated in the infrastructure projects in Africa. Based on the translation practice of a technical specification of a dam water supply project in Africa by a company of our country, the writer makes an analysis of the specific translation in this report.This report includes four parts: the description of the translation task, the presentation of the translation procedure, the case analysis and the conclusion. The first part presents the background and features of the translation task and the requirements of the client. The second part presents the preparation, the implementation of the plan and the relevant activities after the translation. The third part analyzes the problems like translation of terminologies, proper names and long sentences and relevant translation strategies. The fourth part presents the unsolved problems and the writer’s plan of learning and translation in the future.Hopefully this report may be helpful for such translation activities.
