With the rapid development of social economy and culture Chinese,words are continuously enriched and updated. A lot of new words notonly improves the Chinese ideographic ability, and displays the era ofChinese characters. But new words teaching has not received enoughattention in the present teaching Chinese as a foreign language. How tohelp students learn new words in Chinese vocabulary, improve theirability, and improve their Chinese level. It has become an importantresearch topic in the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.This paper consists of four parts. The first part is the introduction. Itdescribes the purpose and significance of this research, and the researchstatus of Chinese new words to do a brief review. The second part is theoutline of the Chinese new words. The new words are defined firstly andthen explains the reasons and ways. The third part discusses the necessityof the status of new words in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Thefourth part mainly discusses the strategies and principles of selecting newwords teaching, then put forward some suggestions for the teacher shouldpay attention to questions in the teaching of new words.New words teaching is a kind of teaching theory and skills of haveboth at the same time, how to make the theoretical knowledge and skillstraining combined, and it deserves study in further. In this paper based onthe study of ontology theory of new words, and put forward some ownviews for new words in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. I hopethis study can provide some help for new words teaching Chinese as a foreign language in the future.
