This project is to translate the book The Body Language of Love, by Alan Peaseand Barbara Pease, internationally renowned experts in interpersonal communicationand body language.As a work for public reading, this book introduces the skills as tohow to get along with the opposite sex. It analyses the deep reasons of genderdifferences as well as meanings and practical techniques of body language used in love.Published in January2012, there is no Chinese version yet, so translating the book intoChinese for Chinese readers is of help, to a certain extent, to understand the genderdifferences research abroad. At the same time, the various detailed descriptions of thebody language in this book are also of practical significance for readers in daily life.The translator has chosen the whole book as the translation task to offer readers acomplete view of the original work about the body languages in love relationship.After finishing the translation, the translator writes this report to review the translationprocess, analyses difficulties encountered, proposes the solutions, and summarizes herthoughts about translation. In this report, Nida’s theory of dynamic equivalence isapplied with specific cases in the translation process. Furthermore, specific applicationof the translation techniques, such as familiarization and domestification, are analyzedwith particular cases analysis in terms of wording, sentence structure and style.
