This is a translation project report on "Chapter6" of The Location of Culture written by Homi K. Bhabha. Homi K. Bhabha. In Chapter6of this book, Homi K. Bhabha views several scenarios of "the sudden, fortuitous discovery of the English book" described in the postcolonial literature. This translation project report consists of four parts:the first part is the translation project description, which includes the project background, objectives, significance and the structure of the report. In the second part, the background information of the author, main contents, stylistic analysis and linguistic features of the source text, are included. The third part focuses on the encountered difficulties and the translation skills adopted in the translation process, including division of long sentences, conversion as well as addition and reduction. The fourth part summarizes the experiences and lessons gained by the translator and the insufficiencies that should be made up in the future.The author translated "Chapter6" of The Location of Culture under the guidance of Katharina Reiss’ text type theory, and explored the translation strategies on the translation of text connected with postcolonial theory.
