This is a translation project report of Translation Zones in Modern China: Authoritarian Command Versus Gift Exchange by McDougalll, Bonnie S, of which Chapter 7 Issues in Translation, Power and Ownership is the title text. In the seventh chapter, the author discusses the "authoritarian" mode, the ownership problem of the state of cultural products, including translation works. Guided by the theory of translation and ideology, the translator adopts strategies, including rewording and omission, in line with the ideology of the target readers. In addition, the translator adopts the methods of amplification, conversion, reversing and splitting to ensure the fluency and accuracy of the translation.
