Quotation, as an important means of communication in daily life, is used very extensively. Quotation is generally divided into direct quotation and indirect quotation. Direct quotation is generally called quotation and it quotes the original words without any changes. Indirect quotation is generally called report and it converies the words of others by our means. Indirect quotation is without quotation marks.The usage of indirect quotation is more complicated than direct quotation. So this thesis studies on indirect quotation in Korean and Chinese. This article takes the indirect quotation sentences which on "Mandarin Grammar","Korean Practical Grammar","Modern Chinese Practical Grammar" and other grammar books and the21st Century Korean Sejong plan corpus as the research object, and it investigates the similarities and differences on indirect quotation between Korean and Chinese in ways of expression, transformation rules, sentence pattern and etc.Chapter One:Introduction. It gives a brif introduction of the research purpose and meaning of the thesis, reviews the previous researches of Korean and Chinese indirect quotation and comparative research production, and also shows the research object and research method of this thesis.Chapter Three:According to the transformation from direct quotation to indirect quotation, this chapter discusses the similarities and differences on personal nouns, space nouns, time nouns, directional verb, vocatives and interjection between Korean and Chinese.Chapter Four:According to the transformation from direct quotation to indirect quotation, this chapter discusses the similarities and differences on sentence patterns between Korean and Chinese, such as declarative sentence, interrogative sentence, imperative sentence and synchronization sentence.Chapter Five:Conclusion part sums up every part and raises some questions to be solved.
