This book tells seven significant skills that can make achild become capable, and it is regarded as the Breakthrough No Parent or Teacher CanAfford to Ignore. The specific translation task of the author is from chapter one tochapter four, which tells the writing background of the society and family, the firstskill of the significant seven skills——perceptions of personal capabilities, which is tomake our children believe they are capable people, and tells us the five barriers andbuilders of the first skill by using specific examples. Nowadays, in China, parents aremuch concerned with the problems of their children’s education; every parent hopestheir children could be more excellent, more independent. Therefore, the translator ofthis article hopes to give more information about the ways the American’s educatorused to educate and raise children by translating this book. In this way, the translatorwants to draw the attention of the teachers and parents, and make them reflect thedifference of educating between China and America and make them reflect how todevelop capable children. On the basis of translation theory, this article use ways ofchanging the form of the words, dividing long sentences, etc. to deal with thetranslation task. While translating, the translator tries to be faithful to the original textand tries to reflect the style of the original text. |
