The Buddhist Artifacts are the unity of religion and art, which havebeen getting developed gradually and have formed a relatively completesystem in the process of their long-term use and spread, whose function,shape and material differ from each other. As a component element of theBuddhist arts, the Buddhist Artifacts play an indispensable role in thecommunication, development and inheritance between Han and TibetanBuddhist. It is not only an important media in the spread of Buddhistthoughts and ideas, but also bear rich information in the art exchangebetween Han and Tibetan Buddhist. In addition, it manifests extremely highartistic aesthetics and values in model structures, material retrievals,decoration patterns, production processes and so on.There is a long history of art exchange between Han and TibetanBuddhist; the Buddhist Artifacts get communication and integration underthe precondition of national open policies. They try to reveal its ownnational personalities in the process of designing and making of theBuddhist Artifacts. Meanwhile, they learn from each other and get mutualpenetrations. As a result, the Han and Tibetan Buddhist artifacts not onlyhave distinctive national characteristics, but also present the artistic featureof “pluralistic integration and inclusiveness”. They have developedtogether and promoted the development of Chinese Buddhist art. Through excavating and sorting of Han and Tibetan Buddhist relics,and combining with documents and related historical data such as images,and based on investing the origin, development and classification of Hanand Tibetan Buddhist artifacts, placing it in the historical category of Hanand Tibetan art exchange, we can find that Han and Tibetan exchangingmutually in the art design levels of model structures, material retrievals,decoration patterns, production processes. The mutual exchange reflects notonly the regularity and features of art development, but also reveals thedevelopment of human beings, especially which the creational act is neverclosed, but learn from each other. As a result, it has created colorful andbrilliant Chinese civilization.
