Traits Of Facial Gender Processing Dynamic And Static Facial Expressions In Limited And Unlimited Time Condition

In the time-limited and time-unlimited experiment, the study tries to distinguish thefacial gender when the computer presents pictures in static and dynamic ways. Though thestudy, the experimenter expect to explore the problems: In the time-limited experiment, thereis a static advantage compared to dynamic facial pictures; In the time-unlimited experiment,there will be a dynamic advantage, compared to static facial pictures.On the behavior level, through the record in the Eprime which records the reaction timeand the accuracy when the testee take part in gender distinguish task, the study make astatistical analysis to the data on the different level. The study gets several conclusions:(1) inthe time-limited experiment, the reaction time of male faces pictures is longer than female andgets higher accuracy; The reaction to positive emotional face image is longer than negativeand neutral emotional faces, the accuracy is lower.(2)In time-unlimited experiment, theaccuracy of male faces is higher than female faces; The reaction time in positive emotionsface image is longer than in negative and neutral emotional faces, the accuracy is lower; Theaccuracy of participants’ response to neutral emotional face image is significantly higherthan negative emotions.(3)In repeated time-limited and time-unlimited experiments,dynamic images shows the higher reaction accuracy; Compared the two experiments, thetestee in time-limited get shorter reaction time, higher accuracy.Conclusion:(1) the accuracy of participants’ response to male faces picture is higherthan to female faces, which shows the recognition rate to male faces of the participants ishigher than female faces.(2) the participants spend more time in recognizing gender in thepositive emotional images, reaction while the accuracy is lower.(3)In the two experiments,the testee recognize the gender, the accuracy has a dynamic advantage.(4) Compared the twoexperiments, there is a higher accuracy and shorter reaction time in the time-limitedexperiment.
