This is a translation project report on the first part of Beijing Government Work Report2012. In thispart, it mainly reviews the works of2011on the fields of economy, culture and medical health, etc., as wellas introduces plans and policies for the coming year. The main contents of this translation project report aredivided into four parts: Part One is introduction of the background of the translation project, includingintroduction of project, project goals and significance. Part Two is introduction of the research background,including the theoretical framework, introduction of Functional Equivalence Theory and analysis of thesource text. Part Three is introduction of translation process, including preparation before translating andthe difficulties that the author has met during the translation and how to settle them by adopting translationmethods. Part Four concludes with the lessons, enlightenments and unsolved problems in the translationproject.In this translation report, the reporter adopts Eugene Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory to argueand emphasize the importance of translation theory in political essays through translation practice.
