The poster is an advertising form of long history, widely used in the poster oftheatres, performances, competitions, movies, and other activities. Early posters aredrawn by hand. With the development of the times, pure manual drawing has beenunable to meet the requirements of visual aspect and functional aspect. However, withthe maturity of modern graphic design industry, Poster Design is included.Movie posters as a poster, which have clear pertinence, express the theme aroundtheir corresponding movies. In the current film market, there are a lot of ways topromote movies. The traditional ways are trailers, movie posters, press releases,cinema advertising, etc. New ways are Network Marketing such as Weibo,conferences, program announcements, interviews and covers, etc. Propagandasinclude tangible and intangible ones, while which will be chosen according to therequirements of the films by the issuers. Movie posters are undoubtedly a traditional,physical form of propagandas. Modern movie posters in external form are notconstrained by the fixed size, which have a variety of changes. On the basis of thepromotion needs, movie posters are also divided into Announce Posters, FormalPosters, and Role Posters, etc. To face the expanding of Electronic Media, movieposters compared with dynamic media such as films and televisions, has a strongimpression on their incomparable serene, quiet, and solemn characteristics, whichmakes it obtain the parallel developmental space of Electronic Media.Excellent movie posters are undoubtedly a kind of art, which can bring peoplethe aesthetic pleasure. Movie posters of rich cultural connotation contained in theircultural nature, from which can embody the value pursuit of the unity of truth,kindness, and beauty. Movie posters also are the effective window to the propagandaof the film theme and a special media to express the image information. Up to now,the development of movie posters has formed their own unique aesthetic principleand style form; also precipitate some regularity, accompanying the homogeneityphenomenon while typification. However, few people actually pay attention to that.This paper is based on the perspective of aesthetics, carrying on the full-directionalaesthetic interpretation of modern movie poster art on the aspects of the aestheticprinciples about movie posters design, the artistic style, the visual form, thepsychological demands of strategy, and from the perspective of semiotics aesthetics.
