Language And Culture Analysis Of Anyang Placenames

This paper analysis the placename of Anyang from mainly two aspects:langue and culture. Place nameis a very special social language phenomenon and a kind of language symbol of the geographic entities andactivity areas in society where people live. Investigating and researching the placenames of one’s area, notonly reflecting its phonetic features,word building form and rhetoric methods,but also something importanthistorical and humanitistic clues.From two aspects of synchronicity and diachronism，this article makes a11一around,multi—level andmulti-angle investigation into and analysis of historical documents on Anyang．The paper is divided into five parts, each chapter of content is as follows:The first chapter is introduction, which primarily introduces a geographical and historical overview ofAnyang,and its current place-name research in the area of Anyang. This part also interprets the purpose, thesignificance,and the analysis methods of this article.The second chapter discusses proper noun of Anyang placenames from language point of view. Aswell as selecting and interpreting particular cases from simple word and compound word.The third chapter analysis vocabulary rhetorical characteristics of Anyang placenames. Paticulalyintroducing three kinds of figures of speech: metonym,personification and metaphor.The forth chapter focus on interpreting historical evolution of Anyang placenames.The fifth chapter is about the relationship between cultural connotations and placenames ofAnyang.Respectively discussing from religion,totem and clanism.Finally: This chapter is the conclusion of the paper, putting forward some advices on urban planningand construction and making contributions to the hometown.Previously,as few person study Anyang placenames from aspects of language and culture,the authorexpects to deepen our understanding of anyang---the three thousand royal park,and contributes a bit to myhometown to create it regional and central city.
