Human beings pursued their own interests while ignoring the interest of the nature.That led to many problems of the nature. The problems forced human to re-examine therelationship between human and nature and to find the position in the nature. They have tofind some effective strategies to solve the problems, and the strategies need to be supportedby the environmental ethic theory.American environmental ethicists Holmes Rolston based on the intrinsic value to setup his environmental ethics theory. He explored that how to use the environmental ethictheory in the society. In the third part of Philosophy Gone Wild, he came up with hisenvironmental ethic practical theory. His practical theory contains four parts: commercial,government policy, endangered species protection and personal life. By reading his paper,the author of the paper explored the background of the theory, the basis of the theory andthe main content of the theory. The author also summarized the feature of the practicaltheory and evaluated the advantages and disadvantages of the practical theory.
