| College Public Arts Education is a comprehensive and systematic formation of spirits. College students could become a person with excellent characteristics, aesthetical standard and temperament under the fostering of arts education. In the times of quality-oriented education and training society-served students, public arts education becomes an important part of college quality-oriented education. The moral education function in college public arts education means that in the framework of public arts education, on the basis of the thoughts and psychological states of students, colleges raise students’aesthetical standards, advance their mental states, improve their temperament, finally achieve the physical and mental harmonious development. In general, it means fostering temperament by aesthetic to attain healthy development of students, advancing truth by aesthetic to guild the mental development of students, promoting kindness by aesthetic to raise the ethical quality of students. The moral education function of college public arts education is not only a way to implement moral education, but also a unique way of education. College public arts education could promote students’ aesthetical quality, mental states, as well as the moral standards. The key to attain the moral education function of college public arts education is to bridge the aesthetical experience and moral feeling in students’ mind, which will be a long-term and systematic project. College public arts education is an integrated part of college moral education, its key functions are promoting students’aesthetical quality, raising students’mental states, advancing their moral standard, and attain their healthy development.Targeting on the problems arising from developing the moral education function of college public arts education, this thesis analyzes the necessity and features of moral education of public arts education. Using literature review, survey, and focus group interviews, I study the current state of moral education in college public arts education, and propose thoughts and suggestions for a better development of moral education function in college public arts education. This thesis consists of three parts.In Part1â… briefly introduce college public arts education and its moral education function. First, â… define the related concepts of "arts education" and "moral education", and demonstrate the relationship between arts education and moral education. Then â… study the implication, objectives, content and form, features, and history of college public arts education. Finally I analyze the implication of moral education function of college public arts education, and the necessity and features of developing this function.In Part2â… point out the outcomes and problems in developing moral education function of college public arts education, based on the current state of moral education in college public arts education. I also analyze the underlying reasons affecting developing moral education function.In Part3, â… propose some thoughts and suggestions to improve moral education in college public arts education. The basic idea is to stress the role of moral education in college public arts education, improve the faculty quality in arts education, and use a variety of methods to develop moral education function of college public arts education. |
