This paper focus on the educational ideas and methods of university public arts education of our country, and considers that body aesthetic could be a potential direction to reform, if illustrates as a concept, namely "body aesthetic education" This paper first briefly explains the connotation and artistic view of "body aesthetic education". It reveals that, the theory of aesthetic contemplation has stood on the central position in contemporary aesthetic education system of our universities, as well as the appreciation courses in public arts curriculum system. However, body aesthetic education would pay more attention to perception, experience and participation of our body. It believes that, the aesthetic without the factor of body is far away from the essence of aesthetic, which is embodiment and life practice. Therefore, body aesthetic education would contribute to cultivate an overall and integrated person, both in mental and physical body. The rest of this paper analyzes the public painting, music and drama curriculum respectively from the view of body aesthetic education. It indicates that, to master the professional knowledge and skills of art is not the key to public arts education. We should give priority and concern to obtain a kind of art experience, which is truly observed and learned by students, and because of this experience, their life could be more complete and beautiful. From the perspective of body with perception and emotion, this paper gives an interpretation of public painting and music education. It believes that, public arts teacher should take notice, improve and make use of "body" in their teaching process, since body’s sensibility for arts is a dimension that cannot be ignored. Finally, associated with the analysis of Chinese body view such as "integration of spirit and body" and "embodied knowing", this paper considers that, the drama teaching should focus on the cultivation of spirit, Qi (style) and figure, which the goal of public drama curriculum is to enable students to express their love for life confidently through the body language.
