The approval of the academic degree of MTI (Master of Translation and Interpretating) by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council in2007marks that the interpreting education has turned into a practice-oriented one. So, it is quite necessary to enhance practice-oriented interpreting studies. And the interpreting activity at the site of Premier Wen Jiaobao’s Press Conference during the "Two Sessions"(WJBPCTS) is typical of all kinds of interpreting activities. Therefore, it can serve as a textbook example for the practice-oriented interpreting studies. What’s more, as the interdisciplinary approach is becoming a trend in interpreting studies, people are increasingly learning from the other disciplines to enrich the interpreting studies. Eco-translatology or Eco-paradigm is one of many interdisciplinary approaches to interpreting studies.Studies show that five major paradigms are used in interpreting studies in the past, namely, IT paradigm, CP paradigm, NL paradigm, TT paradigm and DI paradigm. These paradigms lay study stresses on the process of interpreting itself. This paper starts from the Eco-paradigm and it not only pays attention to the process of interpreting itself but also emphasize the influence of the interpretational eco-environment in the process of interpreting, so as to three-dimensionally interpret the typical interpreting activity of WJBPCTS thus offer guidance for interpreting practice.Introduction part of the paper includes background, significance, objectives, hypothesis, methods and outline. Then, the paper makes a brief review on the interdisciplinary approaches to interpreting studies and introduces the relevant studies from An Approach to Translation as Adaptation and Selection (TAS) to Eco-translatology. And next, the paper details the theoretical framework for case study. At last, based on the theoretical framework mentioned above, the paper takes the real-life examples in WJBPCTS from2003to2012as the case study materials. And it describes the features of this specific interpretational eco-environment, which influences interpreters’"three dimensional" adaptive selections in the interpreting strategy and methods. Conclusion proves the hypothesis put forward in the introduction. That is the interpreting strategy and methods selected by interpreters are all determined by the interpretational eco-environment at the specific moment.
