A Report On The Simulation Of Consecutive Interpreting For 2016 Premier Li Keqiang's Press Conference Under The Guidance Of The Interpretive Theory

In the late 1960s,the interpretive theory was bornin France,whose main research objects were the principles of interpretation and non-literary text translation and teaching.Since the interpretive theory derived directly from interpreting and translating practice,its viewpoints have unique revealing and guiding significance for translation studies and interpreting and translating practice.In terms of interpreting practice,the interpretive theory tells us that in the three levels of lexis,sentence and text,a successful interpretation should be based on the level of the text.Because if an interpreter wants to make the audience obtain the.same effect as the source language from the target language,he or she must pay heed to the meaning of communication which is the basic unit of interpretation,instead of the vocabularies and sentences,to meet the purpose of communicative function.The interpretive theory also divides the interpreting process into three stages:understanding,separating from the language shell,and re-expressing.This simulated consecutive practice report regards "2016 Premier Li Keqiang's Press Conference" as the simulating object.In this report,by using interpretive skills,such as free translation,addition,reduction,conversion and sentence combining,the author successfully deals with some lexical and sentence problems occurred in the interpreting process,which demonstrates the guidance of interpretive theory for interpretation practice.Meantime this report puts up with some suggestions for interpreting learners.This report consists of five chapters.Chapter One introduces the interpreting task,including background information,the analysis of the original text and the structure of the thesis.Chapter Two describes the interpreting process,such as pre-interpreting preparation,the interpreting process,emergency precautions and the assessment after the simulation.Chapter Three gives a specific introduction of the interpretive theory.Chapter Four mainly makes a list of the interpretive skills used in this practice.Combined with author's translation cases,it fully elaborates how the interpretive theory instructs the author to deal with the lexical and sentence problems occurred in the simulated interpreting process.Chapter Five summarizes the major achievements for this practice report,puts forward some referenced interpreting strategies for other interpreting learners.
