2012UK Energy Reform Bill translation project mainly consists of two parts: In thefirst part, the key elements of2012UK Energy Reform Bill which was published by theUK government, namely, the electricity market reform are translated into Chinese. In thesecond part, a related translation project report is written based on the translationpractice.2012UK Energy Reform Bill has been called “the biggest earthquake that theBritain electricity market faces since the privatization”. According to The Guardian, thisbill may bring great changes to the market, and the rising energy bill as well as therenewable usage will become the public focus ever again. As the priority of this bill, thethird section mainly includes contracts for difference, investment instruments, capacitymechanism and so on. In the translation project report, I will combine my translationpractice with the functional equivalence theory, and summarize some practicaltranslation techniques at the same time.The translation project report consists of four parts. The first chapter is theintroduction of the translation project, including its background, significance and themain content of the report. The second chapter covers the introduction of the difficultiesduring the translation process of the source text. In the third part, the translationstrategies and techniques adopted are presented in light of the functional equivalencetheory. The forth chapter concludes the enlightenments and shortcomings in thetranslation process.
