Law is one of the highest social standards which influences and promotes thedevelopment of human society historically. It owns high and lofty position. Theresearch object of this report is the translation “Law, Crime, and Law Enforcement”,Britannica Book of the Year1996. It can help people realize all the aspects of law fortranslating the raw material.Firstly, the report describes the origin, significance, academic status, the socialfunctions and effects of the raw materials, as well as relevant background information.Then it analyzes all the work in the process of translating and summarizes the specificfeelings, and expresses some personal feelings and individual insights which confirmand affirm some theoretical principles learned in the past years. Later, throughaddition, conversion, passive conversion and other techniques, it cites typical,significant examples concerning vocabulary, syntax and so forth, and eventuallymakes a conclusive statement at the theoretical level.This report focuses on the empirical analyses and some correspondingtheoretical generalization that bear some originality, and by which the authoressintend with great efforts to produce certain instructive and inspiring meanings to thesame or similar activities.
