The Dialect Vocabulary Study Of Weiyuan County Of Sichuan Province

This thesis takes vocabulary of Weiyuan dialect as research subject，from the seven dialectof modern chinese point of view，Weiyuan dialect belongs to the northern Dialect．Weiyuandialect is similar to Mandarin in some aspects，such as phonetics，vocabulary and grammar．There have existed many famous works and some thesises about vocabulary of Sichuan dialect，even though phonetics and vocabulary of Weiyuan dialect have been mentioned in somethesises， there has not been specialized research on Weiyuan dialect and has not given asystematical description about it．Therefore，on one hand，it supplies us with some usefulmaterials，on the other hand，it provides space for us．This thesis is based on field investigation，description and comparison．The survey partnerscontain three generations to describe old denomination and young denomination of Weiyuandialect，so it possibly show its complete picture，and what’s more，it is an objective requirementof language development．The thesis consists of6chapters，it introduces the phonetic andanalyses phenomena of pronunciation variation of Weiyuan dialect，and describes vocabulary ofWeiyuan，including the overview of vocabulary of Weiyuan dialect that is the basis of the thesisand some special words， the former contains28categories that is based on＂ Survey ofChinese Dialect entry table＂， which is written by Dialect Research Laboratory， ChineseAcademy of Social Sciences，and combine fieldwork and famous works，and the thesis makesa conclusion after every category． The thesis focuses on synchronic comparison betweenWeiyuan dialect and Mandarin to unveil the features of vocabulary of Weiyuan dialect，and interms of form characteristics and meaning characteristics．In addition，the thesis enumeratessome idiomatic phrases of Weiyuan，including convential expression，proverb and Xiehouyu(歇后语)，because it belongs to general vocabulary，and it is not only a communicative tool，butalso a reflection of certain regional culture．The whole thesis mentions little knowledge aboutthe phonetic and grammar of Weiyuan dialect，both of them just serve the vocabulary study．Furthermore， there have existed many achievements about diachronic comparison ofvocabulary of Sichuan dialect，so this thesis choice synchronic angle，and it may supply someguidance for local people．The main purpose of this thesis is to unveil the characteristics of Weiyuan dialect，to provide some materials that may be useful for people who hope to knowmuch more about Weiyuan dialect，and to supply them with some reference point of view．...
