Research Of The Collection And Interpretation Of Idiomatic Phrase In The New And Old Versions Of Modern Chinese Dictionary

The paper takes the idiomatic phrase in the 4^th,5^th,6^th,7^thh edition of Modern Chinese Dictionary which is a standard dictionary,and we will describe and analysis the whole characteristics,collection situation and interpretation situation of the idiomatic phrase in the Modern Chinese Dictionary,We are committed to promoting the scientificity of the collection and interpretation of idioms and promoting the standardization of dictionary compilation.The research is divided into four chapters:Chaper one,the general description of idioms in Modern Chinese Dictionary.In the aspect of phonetics,the trisyllabic idioms take the largest proportion,the percentage is69.7%,the main syllable form is“1+n?1<n?4?”;in the aspect of structure,there are eight structural types,and the relative fixity is the characteristic of structure;in the aspect of semantics,50.6%of the idioms are pejorative,71.6%of idioms use metaphor to express semantics;In the field of distribution,64.4%of the idioms are in the field of life.Chapter two,investigation on the collection situation in different versions.Based on the statistics of the number of idioms included,the analysis of their development and changes of collection,the statistics on the frequency of idioms in the four editions of Modern Chinese Dictionary,this paper reaches the following conclutions:the main feature of collecting idioms is steady inclusion and conservative deletion,the universality of idioms is the main basis for adding or deleting idioms in dictionary.In addition,Based on the theory of"Three Worlds"in dictionaries,this article discusses the specific factors that influence the addition and deletion of idioms in Modern Chinese Dictionary.Chapter three,investigation on the interpretation of idioms in Modern Chinese Dictionary.This paper sums up five main ways of interpretation and five major changes,and the reasons for the changes are cognitive change of people,social development and the dictionary's pursuit of scientific interpretation.Chapter four,discussions on the interpretation of idioms in the dictionary.This paper maintains that the use of explanatory prompts and paraphrase of synonymous idioms should be further standardized.And there are some imperfections in the interpretation of some idioms,such as the scope of interpretation was too wide or too narrow,some senses were not included,the sematics and color meaning need to be pointed out.
