Study On Variation Rhetoric Of Bi Feiyu’s Works

Bi Feiyu, a writer from Jiangsu, has become a contemporary famous novelist. He paysburning attention to the language in his works, thus creating unique personality. The flexibleusage of variation rhetoric arouses the reader’s interests. The current researches on Bi Feiyu’sworks concentrate more on lively and abundant characteristic or themes, lackingsufficient interpretation of the language.Based on the deeply parse of Bi’s works, this paper studies about the methods of variationrhetoric, in light of the theory of Feng Guangyi. The whole paper is composed of six parts. Theintroduction part expatiates primarily the subject, purpose, significance, steps and presentresearch status. The main body, chapter one to three, shows us the gorgeous variation rhetoric inBi Feiyu’s works, such as variations of Cohesive Unit, variations of Word Combination andpersonal creativities, which are not in accordance with the rules of grammar and logic. The fourthchapter discusses the subjective and objective reasons for the variations and brings out thefar-reaching significance. The conclusion part carries on a brief summary of the former chaptersand illustrates the deficiencies of this paper.As the main theoretical framework, the variation rhetoric provides us with some newperspectives to appreciate Bi Feiyu’s works, along with enriching the theory of modern Chineserhetoric.
