With the development of globalization and the growth of China’seconomy, our country is closely involved in the world economic activities, resulting inan increasing requirement for translating financial English that is characterized by theusage of metaphors to explain complicated phenomena. As a result, the article willanalyze how to translate metaphors in financial English by taking examples from THEHOUSE OF CARDS, so as to achieve a better understanding of the translationmethods for metaphors.The translated material THE HOUSE OF CARDS is selected from AFTER THEMUSIC STOPPED: The Financial Crisis, the Response, and the Work Ahead.
